I am looking to purchase a .256 magnum Contender barrel but before I do that I need to find where I can buy ammo. Does anybody know where you can buy factory loaded ammo for this Caliber ? I already tried Midway but they list nothing. I would like it to have the correct head stamp. I am not a reloader so I need something ready to go.

Also anybody have a barrel they are looking to sell ? I am still looking for a .256 Contender barrel, a .225 Contender barrel and also a .222 Magnum barrel.

Thanks for all your help.

Don't see any factory stuff but even if you reload brass is about $1.00 a piece.

Thanks Kish.

Does anybody know anything about Reed ammo ? Ever purchased anything from them before? The hvae no phone number listed anywhere that I can find on their website. That seemed a bit sketchy to me? Just want to make sure they are a legit company. Any info appreciated.

Thanks guys

Haven't seen any factory loaded 256 ammo in long time. Easiest is to neck down 357 mag or 223 brass

Though I don't care for Wiki as it is not accepted as a true researchers page, I can't put my hands on any of my personal information. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.256_Winchester_Magnum

If you do not reload then the 256 is not for you I would say. Keep a look out though and keep the faith.

I have bought brass (.256 win mag) and loaded ammo from them. Both the ammo and brass is excellent quality and and service can't be beat. When my supply of brass is used up I will go back to Reed's.

If you are look for a sweet looking 25 caliber cartridge check out the 256GNR by Gary Reeder. It is a 357 Max necked down to 25 caliber and he has the dies too.
