its too quiet in this forum. i started reloading for my marlin 45/70 back in the 80's. my coworker had fed license and i purchased a contender 22 mag pistol. i saw and predicted the rise and prices of rimfire rounds. got rid of the mag, ordered the hornet and the history is in stone.375 jdj later, (by the way still have the hornet, my trapline gun will never pawn off) imr 4198 served its purpose back then. tight groups with moose on the table. i reload and when a product gets low, i purchase. in the years i've been reloading. in the begining was imr4198. i tried many in between, but my 30/06 and 45/70 chews imr 4198 like bread n butter. in my part of alaska, get whats available. by the way if not making sense had a lil

IMR 4198 is great in the 45-70, have not tried H4198 and see no need to. Might try in the 06, never thought of it before. Also I like the old powders, probably because I have some to use.
