New guy with Encore auction find [message #5878]

Hi all,
new guy here,picked up my first Encore at an estate auction here in NH (went for another gun but I thought the price was to low on this one not to bid and the hammer fell!)and been poking around trying to see what I am going to do with it.
She's a 06 with a Harris bipod and T/C case(I think ?),the main reason I bid was the scope,auctioneer had it listed as a Leupold VXII but when I checked it out I saw it had the Handgun VXIII 2.5X8 on it.
Not sure if I am going to hunt with her (180's?)target or sell it and buy something else.Looks neat and sure to want to try her out.

Contratulations. When you shoot it, try it both with and without the bipod attached. I'd be very surprised if your groups didn't get SIGNIFICANTLY better when you remove the bipod. Anything that touches the barrel - especially that close to the muzzle, has the potential for creating very big groups.

Thanks Doyle and Buckhunterbb,
was not sure about it when I won-was really bidding as I wanted the scope,but its kinda growing on me now.
I will try it with and with out that bopod.
