They are attention gitters at the range back home. Recoils not as bad as you might think, but they are loud. Last time I was home there was an FBI agent and some of the sheriff deputies there, they had muffs, but they began to flinch and miss after a few rounds from the 338/06, the concussion under that roof, was worse than the noise I think, their jackets were whipping like someone was slapping them. None of them had ever actually been in a gunfight and decided that this would be good practice, so they stood on either side of me and blasted away at their target as I ripped some shots when they didn't expect them and after awhile they settled down and were doing well, and they actually thanked me for being there. Kinda neat story.
