Found another Contender pistol at a good price.
It's an older G-1 model that came from the factory with a 30 win.
Caliber marking on it's octogon barrel.Silhouette sights.
My neighbor shot silhouette competitions with it back in the 70s,and isn't into shooting at all any more.
Any thoughts on this settup ?
Paying $400 for this AND a High Standard "Trophy"22 pistol.

Not sure what your looking for as far as comments on the Contender. If by "silhouette sights" you mean the rear sight which closely resembles a Williams they were offered as an accessory item for a few years. Some period super 14's left the factory with them installed. They were standard with the 400 IHMSA super 14 guns available through IHMSA.
400 for both it and the Hi-Standard Supermatic Trophy 22 is an excellent deal, Each well worth the asking price alone. Kudos on running into such a great deal.

Just wondering if this older model will be one of the ones that I have read about with locking shut issues,ect
It is a done deal,but "welcome to Ny" 6-8 week turn around time on permit amendments right now!
Can't take posession until I get the paperwork back!
