460 Katahdin Barrel Questions [message #3251]

Is anyone shooting the 454 ammo out of their 460 Kathadin? I am having a hard time getting 460 ammo but the 454 is plentiful! Just wondering how the 454 preforms in the 460 barrel...Thanks

I have an Encore in 460 S&W. Had a time finding ammo. I went to Gunbroker.com look under ammo /pistol
found some good deals on my ammo there.Haven't tried 45lc or 454 yet. Mine kicked like a mule so I sent it off and had a brake installed. Have yet to get to the range to see the difference. Found a good plinking load if you reload. 16 gr of Trail Boss under a 250gr bullet. Lower recoil , more fun to shoot , but you lose the power of the 460 makes it more like a 44mag recoil in a heavy revolver.

Before I sold my MGM barrel in 460, I shot both the 45LC and 454 Casull. Both shot great and were powder puff loads compared to the 460, not that it was real bad either.
