Brothers got me a 264 win mag barrel from MGM for Christmas. Barrel is 26" and 1:9 twist. Anyone have any experience with this caliber? Looking for best accuracy loads?
Have read on this site for a while but just signed up and this is first post.

Nice brothers. Standard twist for the 264 is 1:08. By now, this round has had a lot of tests and load development. All the Loading manuals list loads that gave the best accuracy for their appropriate powders of by powder companies, or specific bullets by the bullet companies. Even without owning the loading manuals you can usually find good data online. The somewhat off twist will skew bullet selection a bit, and make perfect load data mostly a ballpark thing, and you'll have to tweek on your own.
You list WVa, what's your intended quarry? paper at 600?, woodchucks at 400?? Deer at 250? BTW, Welcome to the fold/flock

Hoping to get to deer at about 400. Wondering about bullet selection more than anything and what people have had luck with. Will get corresponding book if I don't already have it. Excited to tweek it in that's always the fun part. Looking at the berger 120 gr but they only come in match bt target so not sure about using them to hunt with? Thanks for the welcome. Have shot encores for years but just came across his website about 6 months ago. Looking at ordering trigger kit and oversized hinge pin. Do you recommend?

these are all (cept the 260 rem and and short mag) belted cases, and safe in the encore (264 win mag,7 rem mag, 300 win mag, 300 H&H, 338 Win mag 8 Rem mag, 375 H&H, 416 mag, 458 win mag, etc. The short mags are FATTER than the H&H based mag cases. Shorter stubby belted mags on steroids. Last I saw, no one recommends the short mags in encores. 350 Rem mag is fine in pistol barrels. It's short but not fat like a "short mag". 7 STW is a longer 7 Rem mag, but doesn't use a short mag case, still based on the old 300/375 based case. The original H&H's had long tapered shoulders. New cartridges have sharper shoulders, and thus more case capacity. Most of the barrel suppliers say no WSSM chambers, exception *mite* be the baby one, .224, check at MGM's site. They do do some of the Weatherby chambers, Ed's has some 308 marlins rechambered to 300 weatherby done by MGM (rechambered factory).
