Folks

I have a 28 gauge vent rib barrel from MGM, been shot about 5 times. Rare barrel. Comes with all three choke tubes. All markings on side of barrel are similar to TC markings, but top of rib is marked MGM USA. $500 shipped >>450, firm

Kelly,
Does a "standard" choke, like the mossberg/browning invector/winchoke or some other have the same thread (remchoke)so that additional chokes (like skeet1 and skeet2) can be added to the options?
Also, I see the barrel locks (usually a Contender "thing") are used. Does that mean you have to get some special forend for it? Encore forends won't have the recess or counter-sink for those. As such, is a forend included?
Jim

Folks

Barrel length is 26 inches. Choke tubes are marked Colonial and appear to be of the invector style. I can double check that this weekend when I get to my dads house, he has a BPS in 28 gauge. I used a TC walnut muzzleloading forend, just had to use some longer screws. I do not have a forend with the barre. It worked fine on my encore frame the five times I shot it. The gentleman I purchased it from stated it was an MGM made, looking at the Encore markings and the Thompson Center logo appears to be very similar to other TC barrels I have seen. Thus I am in agreement with Elkhound, that MGM just put a vent rib on the barrel.

Barrel is not marked Custom Shop though. I didn't know TC made a 28 gauge barrel for the encore.

Thanks

Kelly
