I have a new mgm 22-250 barrel showing up in next couple weeks. I was wondering if anyone has experience with or just an opinion on using the tubb polishing bullets.

I plan on using MGMS recommendation for break in on my new 7mm-08 barrel.

If God brings you to it He will bring you through it.

Just an opinion, if it's taking metal off faster than shooting it isn't worth it. (I have used the shoot and clean for 10 rounds, shoot 2 and clean for 20, shoot 5 and clean for 5, shoot 10 and clean for 5. I did use a brush and a brass centering tool to keep the rod off the chamber. It did seem to make a difference in cleaning as I got further in.)

Honestly, I have all the barrels I want or could ever need..... wait, look, there's another!!

Oh yeah, and lots of patches. Now I just shoot three, clean with CLP or EEZOX until the patch comes out gray and shoot some more. After a while I will go to 5 or 10 before cleaning

Something I have learned recently. Go to Walmart and buy the multi-pack bore jag kit. It is like $15 and covers just about all common calibers. The brass jags do a wonderful job on the bore over the old slotted patch holders. A well fitting jag seems to remove lead better than a brush at least in my experience. If you are sold on the polishing, just put the patch on the jag and add the polishing compound. Be sure to use a muzzle protector.

Yeah I am a big fan of the jag vs the oversize sewing needle. I learned that when I had my ar-15 varmit rifle. I wasn't very sure about the whole polishing thing think im gonna stick with the tried and true shoot and clean.
