WTB Magnum Rifle Caliber Encore Rifle Barrel [message #37538]

Looking for a magnum caliber encore barrel preferably with a brake installed. Not really any particular caliber but I'd prefer one of the hard hitting magnums like a 300 win mag or 7mm as I'm in the process of building a rifle for a hunt we're planning on taking next season. A custom barrel manufacturer would be prefered also. Only barrels that shoot well I'm interested in. I hand load so I'll tune a load but if you have a barrel you're trying to unload because you can't get it to shoot, please don't contact me. Thanks

I have a stainless receiver and prefer to keep the barrel stainless.

If you reload I have an Encore, "CUSTOM SHOP", 26 inch, blued, barrel, no sights in 338-06. The barrel is 95%+. Although I have not shot it extensively (20 rounds), I was shooting three-shot cloverleafs at 50 yards. The following load was put together just to sight the rifle in: 50gr of 4064 powder, 210 gr Barnes TSX @ 2600fps. The barrel will be a shooter, did not shoot it at 100 yards due to all of the snow on the range. The rifle was a pleasure to shoot, the round gives magnum performance without the belt; and, this was a mid-range loading data load, not something that I worked up; no flattened primers with this load. I have a Ruger in 35 Whelen that I have built for a black bear hunt in August and figured that I would get another Encore barrel in 35 Whelen so as not to have two different calibers; that's the reason for selling this barrel. I want $225 plus shipping and I have a new set of RCBS dies (20 rounds through) for $40 if you are interested.
