I have recently acquired two 17 Rem. barrels. A 14 inch and a 23 inch. Has anyone got any good starting loads to share. I will probably use 25 grain bullets. I have on hand Varget, H4198, W-748, IMR 3031 and maybe another. Are these all or any of them good powder for the 17? Any ideas and suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

I've been pretty satisfied with IMR3031 in my 20" Bullberry 17 Rem

I have been leaning toward IMR3031. I have had great luck with it in the past on other loads. That may be where I head for this. Thanks and good shooting.

I always stick with RL-15 22.5-22.8gr with the 7 1/2 primer and I've never heard of anyone not loving that load.

In fact, I've never used anything else because of the success with it.

Used to be a huge .17 community over at the coyotegods website, but its long gone with Vic and John Henry's info..
