I have a bad striker - part 84-1 in the parts diagram (1046540 on the Numrich Gun Parts site).
Looks like this one is either very worn, or someone messed with it. I'm leaning towards the later, as there was a roll pin inserted where the striker pin should be. Anyway, I removed the striker from the parts container of another Contender frame I'm rebuilding, and it works perfectly now. Putting the two strikers side-by-side, you can barely tell the difference, but installed and checking the contact, you can easily tell the difference. I think someone took a file to the one that was in this frame.
Anyways... now I need to find a striker for this other frame I'm rebuilding, as Numrich doesn't have any.
If at first you don't succeed... buy newer / better equipment!
