Thompson was sneaky by putting a pin on the bottom of the MZ bbls lug to preclude using in a G1 frame. Not so fast !

Okay ! Got her wrapped up ! Got a G1 stock from Boyds (cheaper than factory) Cut that pin off and she closed right up and worked fine. Relieved the forend wood so it did not hit TG. Barrel came with mounts and I had a nice Nikon shotgun scope to drop on it. So if all you have are "G1" frames and are lucky enough to score a MZ bbl, it can be done.

Beauty!
I'm assuming she's a 45 caliber. Have you done enough shooting with it to recommend loads?
I got bit by the contender muzzleloader bug this summer and have since acquired two Gonic barrels, both 45's.
One is a 20" and the other is 16". I've been using .455 Webley 265 gr. hollow base bullets ahead of 80 and 70 gr. of 777 respectively.
Holding groups of 1" @ 50 yds. due to low magnification scope (2.5X).

Think twice...shoot once.

Nope, it's 50. Won't be able to shoot it until I get back to WY in June.

Wow!!! Hang on, brother.
Congrats on having one of the bigger bores.
Sabots might be nice for ya.
Good luck.

I also have one of the T/C 50 cal. stepped barrel for my Contender Carbine, Put a Skinner Peep Sight on it instead of the scope mount (have that also) but find the Peep sight a little more traditional. Enjoy that more. I shoot the Lee cast conical bullets for it and average around a 3" group at 50 yds. Have successfully gotten a 8 point buck and several hogs with it. When I put it together I will take a photo.
