I'm new to the encore, but love the it! Is there a preferred scope base/mount for the shotgun barrel?

Depends on several things, I prefer Warne bases and rings, if you don't mind fumbling with them a bit they will not damage a scope if you follow the directions, I also like the DNZ one piece mounts but you need to be extra cautious they will scratch and in some cases leave a deep mark no big deal if your not going to trade the scope around, a lot less fumbling and simple 8 screws rather than the 12 needed for Warne, also If your using a thumbhole stock the DNZ medium is about equal to others high rings which work better for the rise of the comb

Thank you for the info! Also would you know if I can use the forend from my muzzleloader on a 20 gauge barrel? I know the screws are different but if I ordered 20 gauge screws.... would they work on that forend? The holes line up
Thanks
