Why is there a shortage of gunpowder now. Varget, 4350 and a couple other popular powders seem to not be on the shelves anymore and can't even be back ordered. Something happen us common people are not aware of ??

Still plenty of Varget out there by doing a web search... it may be your store's supplier has stopped carrying it.

Honestly, I have all the barrels I want or could ever need..... wait, look, there's another!!

I guess I will have to dig deeper. None in our local area. Midway and Gunbroker don't show any. Thanks for the info.

I agree, I'm an old guy !! BUT, IMR powders are even in shorter supply. Midway has none of the popular powder in stock with no backorder. Gunbroker's advertised inventory has diminished by 50 % just this week. Something is going on and just because I'm paranoid it DOES not mean they are not out to get me !!!! LOL

Got to eat crow!! went out of state in Idaho. Everybody had lots of powder, just no Varget. They had 8 Ib. kegs 4350. No pound bottles. I couldn't afford the 8 pounders. I'm still working on an 8 LB keg of red dot I bought years ago. To make a short story longer I was told Hodgdon had a huge military contract and no Varget until its fullfilled. FWIW. Heck, I was hoping I could get a good conspiracy theory going. Old men need something to talk about !!

Black powder is the deficit in retail availability because of different storage requirements!
Hard to find in my area.
Substitutes have been all that's available.
I like 777 anyway for my 209 systems but I like Goex for #11 caps.
I'd love to try some Swiss once in a while.
