I have an Encore 24" rimfire rifle barrel for sale as pictured below. It is a TC #1685 that I bought new in 2007 and have shot about 2500 rounds thru. I have read much about people having issues with these barrels, the primary cause of which was using el cheapo ammo in them. I have always shot either CCI Std Velocity or Mini Mags in this barrel and have not had any problems. As you can see in the photos, the fired casings from this barrel show some bulging down into the extractor cut at the bottom. The shown cases are CCI Mini Mag HP. This was the issue with these, that bulging especially when using hot foreign ammo makes the bulge worse and sometimes requires a small plier to extract the empty case. There are other rimfire barrels available that require that the firing pin block be changed to an offset position to correctly strike the case on the rim. This barrel used a different technology by TC that offsets the bore to allow the standard firing pin to hit the rim of the 22LR correctly. It interchanges with the Encore frame as any other centerfire barrel would do. As I said, it works good with quality ammo, no firing pin changes required, less expensive than others on the market now. It has the correct TC scope base included to take Weaver bases.
