Guys I am not sure if this is the correct place to put this. I have this 16" bull stainless contender barrel, in 32-20, made in the TC custom shop, and the last 4-5" of the barrel screws off, leaving a pencil size barrel that is all part of the rest of the barrel. What in the world could be the reason for this outer piece to come off for? Walt.

And didn't I just go an post this up.... I'm having a hard time believing that the Custom Shop did the final bit of work. They might have, but... as for why? There isn't anything I can come with as to why you would do it.

Honestly, I have all the barrels I want or could ever need..... wait, look, there's another!!

looks like someone wanted the screw holes gone and did not want to shorten it, really want to play with a new lathe ??

I'm still leaning toward it was a 21" or so barrel when it left the Custom Shop. No matter what, the machinist ranks way up in the master/expert class from the little I can see.

Honestly, I have all the barrels I want or could ever need..... wait, look, there's another!!
