Will a standard single screw forend work if snap in stud is removed? A friend bought a 44 Mag octagon ( hotshot) that came with a snap in forend. It has damaged ears, and replacements seem rare! Wondering our options!

Yes, Bell-headed screw dovetail in same position as typical octagon forearm
Walnut forearm for octagon barrel will require normal screw and sometimes a top-hat countersink.

Think twice...shoot once.
