BUT, as he asked originally, are they custom shop released or normal factory released? I don't think they ever did any as a normal factory release--Cataloged, and shipped to their normal distributors in any appreciable quantity. I know you can get almost anything via a cutom shop, whether T/C, MGM, Bellm, Bullberry, etc.
T/C ate their lunch over the 6 or 7 year period they did Contender 16's. Now those suckers get a premium price on the secondary market. S&W bean-counters likely aren't going to let them go through the same debacle doing 16 encores.

James, are you sure about the lengths? I bought my first Encore right when they came out, and all the pistol barrels were 15". I wanted a 30-06, but got a 22-250 instead because I was hoping to get out PDoggin
They are marked as standard barrels, not Custom Shop. The only caliber I know of for sure was a 308, I think there were 243 and 7-08 as well
Honestly, I have all the barrels I want or could ever need..... wait, look, there's another!!

Crubear is right on the money, H%H bought all the 16 1/4" barrels from T/C right after the fire, pallets of them. Most were 243 and 308 but there may have been others as well, he sold them for 200 bucks.
They are good shooters. Mike
