T/C made a 30-30AI, and the 30-30 win. Are you asking if they used different blanks for one than the other? It's just luck of the draw when they grab a lugged 30 bore blank. I don't know of anyone that has special blanks set aside based on if the cartridge was improved or not You would pay more for a "select" barrel, but no one says it can't be chambered for a regular 30-30 win.
A crappy 30-30 barrel isn't likely to shoot better just by being re-chambered to 30-30AI, tuning loads may help either. If the barrel has a "bad spot" near the muzzle, wacking some off may help with accuracy, by getting rid of the bad spot, or changing the harmonics so it shoots better if there wasn't a "bad spot". This is seen a LOT in 28's. Shorten them to 23's or so and they go from 4"ers to one holers.
Bellm and White both report this.

Learn something new everyday Jim, I didn't know T/C did any AIs. Were they just from the custom shop?

223 and 30-30 at least. Hard to tell if they were from the custom shop or not. One theory is they were TCA issues (from the C/S) and not logo'd custom shop or TCA, there ARE other examples of that actually happening. Whether these two are like those, or indeed non-cataloged, has been the mystery, uncataloged has happened several times as well. They do have the Monster caliber designation, so definately G-2 era (2002+).
