December 23rd I called S&W/T-C Wanted to order some screws and dovetail locks. Planned to ask for a G-2 manual.
The screws I needed were scope mount screws. One screw fits all, but they are unique to just T/C rail type scope mounts. They don't carry mounts or scope anymore, so don't stock and carry the screws anymore.
So, asked about barrel locks. The encore doesn't use them, the contender does. They've been blue for blue barrels, silver for stainless barrels. asked for 60 blue, 40 stainless. 3.97 each excluding shipping snd handling. AND, >>>>>>deleted stainless<<<<<<
hmmmmmmm. What does THAT mean? it *could* mean they'll just use the blued ones on both blue and SS barrels. WTH, the sites are blue/black, locks shouldn't matter much.
BUT, what else could that mean?
I checked 2014 catalog:
1) for 12": 4 calibers, all BLUE. zero SS
2) for 14": 9 Calibers in Blue, 5 in SS
3) for 23": 7 Calibers in blue, 2 in SS
Total: 20 blue and just 7 SS barrels. They could very well be totally deleting stainless G-2 barrels, Cutting out almost 1/3 of the 2014 barrel options. Prediction: In the 2015 Catalog, we'll see 0 SS barrels and 20 OR LESS Blued ones.
