I found an article on the internet (where else!!) that showed and explained how to weaken the trigger spring in an Encore and thus making the trigger pull lighter. The explanation was to push down on the spring therefore weakening it. this would then lighten the trigger pull. The narrator also said going to a heavier hammer spring instead of the factory spring would also lighten trigger pull. Has anyone done this and did it work ? Thanks for your imput.

I have weakened the spring by pushing down on it. Be careful and don't go too far or you will have to bend it back. I had one that was breaking at 1 lb 15oz. That was a little too light for hunting. My scope tapped me good one time when it went off by surprise.

I have changed all my hammer springs and am satisfied with the results for field shooting, I had a G2 trigger stoned by a gunsmith and then changed the spring a year later, SUPRISE !!!!!! good thing it was in a lead sled at the time no lovely extra eyebrow, it only takes a few minutes to change, and you can change back if you don't like it

I bought the Bellm kit and have been quite happy with it and I still have the factory springs so I can put it back if need be. Be sure to read and follow his instructions well.

Roger,
Much safer to buy the spring kits. Don't change a spring by bending it in a way it wasn't supposed to be bent. Just buy the lighter trigger pull spring kits. Worth the money.
All the best,
Glenn

I bought the Bellem #3 spring kit and 41 lb. hammer spring. A bit confusing assembling it but I got it done. The next one will be alot easier. I made a world of difference. I didn't put it on a scale, I would guess around 3 lbs. Thanks for the advice the kit is the way to go.

A nice pin punch set does not cost much, and will really help getting it done.

The barter system is alive and well, but the learning curve can be painful.

Or you can use the base of two drill bits having them meet in the middle of the frame to provide extra control.
