Ok I just got my turkey barrel in and I need some advice. First off all you turkey hunters what size shot do you like and I hear the recoil is a bear. If recoil is that bad do I need to get a limb saver or something. Thanks for your help.

I have killed a bunch of turkeys using only high brass 2.75 inch loads in a standard full choke Model 11 Remington shotgun. Probably the longest shot was about 35 yards and it was bang flutter flop. I have not hunted turkeys in many years now but I always used number 6 shot. Aim for the head.

A 2.75 inch high brass load of number 6 shot. Always did the trick for me with just a standard full choke barrel.
