On one of the other forums a fellow sold a 28 gauge barrel for $450. this morning. Actually listed it yesterday and I think really sold it yesterday as well but put the SPF up this morning. It was new never mounted.

Then we have the people who advertise their barrels for sale here and don't bother to read the discussion area. Ed has had both Contender and encore 28 gauge barrels for quite some time, and both have been 325. The custom shop offered them for YEARS when the factory only offered 410's. If you wanted one, they were just a little more pricey than the factory barrels. ALL custom shop barrels can be called "rare", why---?
Because they were custom ordered and made one at a time. How many got them? WHO CARES, if you want one just order it from Ed, MGM or Bullberry (if they'll make it) and cough up the coin, get it for a more reasonable price and just maybe the jerks will quit hyping the "RARE" crap.

Yeah, some of the "rare" stuff you see is simply because it didn't sell and no one wanted it. "Rare" doesn't necessarily make it more valuable.

what do you call "vintage"? and give an example.

I've got early 1967 made Contender guns 11xx, 11x4,11x5,(second & third are consecutive) and 14xx. Is that "vintage"?

Bushnell base (Pre magnum phantom), several puma bases

To a 7 or 10 year old, you and your wife are "old". Tell your wife she's "Vintage", then tell me how many burnt meals you get, and how many nights you spend sleeping on the couch. Shocked Shocked
