G-1 Contender barrel forend screw spacings: all from front edge of hinge lug
10" Octagonal and Bull: one screw 1 3/8" ahead
12 & 14 Bull: 2 screws, rear 1 3/8"; front 4 1/2" ahead (one exception, the 16" 45-70 With M/T full Bull uses this forend as well)
Tapered super 16(89-91) and 21's up to 91: single screw 4 15/16" ahead
92 and newer super 16's and 21's (both tapered): 2 screws, rear 1 3/8", front 4 15/16" ahead.
G-2 Carbine/rifle forends: Same hole spacing as the 16's & 21's except for full bulls on the 23" barrels. Won't "fit" right on the tapered 21's. Also missing the E-O notch required for most G-1's. The G-1 E-O notch doesn't affect G-2 frame use But won't FIT G-1 23" full bull barrels. It's More than just hole spacing that determines proper fit.
Proper fit: no grinding, sanding, routing, filing, etc. tapered barrel forends to fit a full bull barrel. AND no JB Weld filling holes and gaps on G-2 Bull forends on tapered G-1 barrels. Leaving out a screw is acceptable if needed. Removing a dovetail lock is acceptable if needed. Beyond that NO.
