Just got myself the 15" stainless .223 barrel 1:12 for my encore pistol thanks to mlw40sw Smile. I am wondering if anyone else has this barrel and what loads you have had good accuracy with. I currently have 75 gr bthp which is obviously too heavy, 55gr FMJ and some 52 gr Amax (bought for 22-250) in my reload bench. After reading online, I am seeing several suggest lighter bullets, say from 40-50 grains, for a 1:12 twist barrel. Has anyone had luck with the 52 gr? What other loads (bullet and powder) has worked well in this barrel?

I have had good luck with the Sierra 52 SMK, but that isn't really a varminting bullet if that is what you're looking for.

I've had very good luck with Nosler 55gr BT's out of a barrel with a 1:12 twist. Only thing is I'm using a powder most don't because it is heat sensitive. But at 200 & 300 yards have had very small groups with it.

I am using 55 grain nosler BTs with very good accuracy with R15 and fed 205 primer the 335 loads in nosler book seemed to do really good also and its there accuracy load with rem.7 1/2 primer,but does seem to give a big fireball out of the barrel.
