I own contenders and encores which are capable of switching barrels in each of their own category. So why do I always feel the need that each barrel should have their own frame? That gets expensive. I am having that dilemma again. I know I shouldn't have to but I want to. Oh well!

It's either an addiction or you're too lazy to change barrels....

Personally, either is an excuse to get more Wink

Honestly, I have all the barrels I want or could ever need..... wait, look, there's another!!

Four .30-30's, but not a single .30 Herrett. Shame, shame, shame.... Very Happy (Just joking with ya')

I've been interested in the .256 Win Mag cartridge for a while now. How do you like that one?

All the best,
Glenn

If at first you don't succeed... buy newer / better equipment!

G.,The 30 Herrett is bottom right (scoped) across from the 357 Herrett on the frame.
The .256WM likes light bullets 60-75 gr. but shoots great for open sights.
old photo, the roster is constantly in flux. Traded top one for 250 sav. Thanks, Sunny.
Picked up a .223AI and a 7mm Bellm and got into Gonics since then.
In all honesty, the Grendel is my go-to.
Thanks guys.
Jimmy

Thank you for the compliment earlier, Michael, David White did it for a guy. Alpo was his moniker. It's a 35 Rem. bored out to 358X444 Improved, uses the 35 Whelen Imp dies that are trimmed .272"...kinda JDJ'ish!
I think it's an early brake, before he figured out the ports need to be small. That one sweeps the area around you!

I am a big fan of big bore single shot handguns. That one you have looks and sounds great. In 1991 I designed one of my own. Actually I think pics of it were posted here a few years ago. In 1993 I started hunting with it here in the woods of Maine. It is a 45/70 case blown out and necked down to accept 300 grain 44 magnum bullets. It is named 445WWK. It is a great deer killer. Good luck with what you have and nice talking to you. Mike...WWKMAG

Mike,
You are one of the few that utilize the 45-70 for a parent. I admire your woodswalker!
Just got done loading a few (45-70's) using a .455 Webley 265 gr. hollow base and 14 gr. of Blue dot for a friend.
My buddy complains that they punish him like his 15" 30TC Bbl. Some people just don't appreciate a little recoil.
Thanks,
Jimmy
