Has anyone ever used knurled screws for your Encore forend during a range session when you might want to just fire a few shots each from several barrels?

I was thinking about purchasing some from McMaster-Carr or Grainger and was wondering if anyone had any experience doing this. It would make barrel changes much less cumbersome at the range. Of course the knurled screws would not be the best choice for a permanent application. But, in my opinion, they surely would be handy at the range for use as described.

Also, I understand from reading elsewhere the threads are 8-40. Confirm?

Thank you all for reading and responding.

Yep, size is 8-40. (Encore Reference section on this site).

I've never tried it. It doesn't take that long to unscrew, and I always have a tool kit with me in the range box. Please let us know how it works out for you.

All the best,
Glenn
