Hi.
I have a 35 rem. T/C contender that I just brought used.
When I load a round in the barrel the whole round falls into the barrel about 1/2 inch or mabey a little less. It doesn't stop flush with the end of the barrel.
Can anyone help.

Contact the person you bought it from and tell them they brought the wrong barrel.

Honestly, I have all the barrels I want or could ever need..... wait, look, there's another!!

Its stamped on the barrel 35 rem.
Is it possible that it was rechambered to another caliber.
The person I got the gun from, is the stepson. The stepfather passed and the stepson knows nothing about the gun.
Thanks Crubear

Maybe someone rechambered it to .35 Whelen. I'd have a gunsmith check it out. If it has been rechambered to 35 Whelen, I wouldn't shoot it. It's one of the calibers that MGM won't build for a Contender because they say that it's too much for that frame.
All the best,
Glenn

If at first you don't succeed... buy newer / better equipment!

Thanks Glen.
You were right. It was rechambered to 358. It was done by JDJ. I found it stamped on the barrel under the frame.

In that case, you should probably get a metal stamper and X out the .35 Rem stamp.
