Newby to the contender here.
Is there an easy way to tell an older contender from a G2? Or serial number break point?
2nd question is regarding the 45/410 barrels. Are they all good for 3 inch or where some only good for the shorter 410 shell. Thanks.

The older contenders have some kind of engraving on the side, the G2 looks just like a small Encore. G2 will take any Contender barrel, but you may have problems with early single piece lugs - which is also true on newer G1 frames. You cannot use a G2 barrel on a G1 frame.
