204 Ruger Encore Pistol SS Barrel [message #9132]

Here is a pic of my 204 ruger pistol with a 15" SS barrel. It is on an Encore SS frame. Grip and forearm are by High Plains. I have found that this is the perfect size gun to keep in my truck when on the back country colorado roads for coyote/prarrie dogs.

Was the barrel cut down to 15"? If it's a standard barrel is the forearm a special order from high plains?

Nope - barrel is standard encore 15" SS. The forearm is the longest standard option you can order. If you are particularly interested, I could put a tape measure to it and send you pics?

yes, I'm interested. I've only seen the short forends for the 15" barrels. That looks like it would fit the 24" barrel.

Sure - I will snap a few picures with a tape measure tonight and post them for you. I will also try to find the orininal High Plains order form to see if I can find some more data there for you. Over all, I really like it. I forgot to order forearm with a sling swivel stud and just recently added that so that I could put a Harris Bipod on it.

Sorry for the wait. Here is a pic with a tape measure showing the 15" barrel. The other pic shows the measurement of the stock which is just over 11 inches in total length. The last picture is of the latest load developement with Benchmark Powder and Vmax 32 gn bullets. This was only at 75 yards as that is all the further the range I was at could shoot to.
