DaddyPaul:
I found out today that the 16.25" barrel does take the rife forearm. Did you get one yet?

I just bought a 16 1/4 inch 308 caliber pistol with installed muzzle break. I have shot only 2x, but hope to turn it into a whitetail pistol from a climbing stand. They'll never see the barrel swing round! PCP

Like I said I have a 24" barrel in 243. I was thinking the 16"er with a rifle forend might sit better in a rest and make a nice little whitetail handgun. I had a 15" 308 with pistol forend and had trouble with stability on sticks. I'm not concerned with the other stuff, just wondered if anyone was running a similar set up.

I think it would be a nice set-up. I have a 18"full bull I use as a pistol, put it on a sling and you don't hardly know it's there. There's a guy on gun broker that has the 243 and 308 in 16.25 right now, 200 bucks. Mike

I just bought a 16.25 inch .308 win barrel. Its currently at the Gunsmith's getting threaded for a suppressor. Mine will be going on a Short Rifle and will be magical in a tree stand to quietly shoot whitetails here on the farm.

I also just received a 16.25" 243, thought I'd try it on a rifle set up. Maybe for deer or coyotes

It is against federal law to install a barrel shorter than 16" on a frame stamped without a pistol serial number. In some states you can go through an ffl and choose to transfer as a pistol or rifle. In ca it must be a pistol serial number from the factory.

How does one find out if it left the factory as a "pistol serial number" ?
The reason I ask is I purchased one used,as a pistol and tried to confirm it with T/C and could not get any one to give me that info.Gun is like new and I am sure its left the factory that way but thought something confirming it from T/C would not hurt.

thanks
