I am thinking about purchasing a 10" Contender Barrel in 32 H&R Magnum. The fellow selling the barrel says that it is a very versital barrel as 3 different calibers can be safely fired through it. 32 H&R Magnum, 32 long & 32 S&W. Does anybody know FOR SURE that is true. I like the thought of it but want to be sure its safe and don't end up killing my self.

Any info would be GREATLY appreciated.

He said the 32 mag would recoil about like a 38 and the 32 long would be about like a 22 magnum. Sound about right to you?

Also guys I am still looking for a .256 mag and .225 barrel.

According to the Wikipedia entry, the .32 H&R Magnum is a lengthened-case version of of the .32 S&W Long. As for the difference between the .32 S&W and the .32 Long, I was always under the impression these were one and the same cartridge.

So then Blast are you saying the .32 long can be shot in a .32 magnum barrel? What research I have done seems to me that the 32 S&W is the same as 32 long also

I don't meet your requirement of knowing 100% for sure, but basing a judgement on other cartridges (.38 Spl in .357 Mag, .44 Spl in .44 Mag, etc) I personally would not have a problem firing the .32 S&W in the .32 H&R barrel.
