Hello Everyone:
I just purchased this over on the Nosler reloading site for $250. I saw it a while back and tried to let you all know. Well I got some extra funds and purchased it myself as it was still available. The barrel has only had 20 shots fired through it, a box of 250 grain Barnes and box of 300 Nosler, 50 cases (20 fired the rest not), and both Lee die sets.

I have decided to put a Nikon scope on it, either Monarch or Monarch gold, with the BDC system. I am having a difficult time trying to decide trying to decide whether a 2x8 or 2.5x10 would be best. Right know I have no idea what I will shoot with it. Everything here in the east is pretty much susceptible to 30-06 which I have. Well what do you think!

Hello Littleking:
I took your advice and put an Ultradot on my 308 encore pistol and love it. For the 375 H&H mag, I think I want some magnification to go to 200 yds. Unfortunately, with my nearsightedness, that is not possible without some magnification. I would still be interested in your comments on the Nikon Monarch or Nikon Gold Monarch being able to stand up to the recoil. I am not sure if there is enough difference at the low magnification that I would notice the difference between 2.0X and 2.5X. Comments?

You are going to love this cartridge. They push more than they kick but you will know when you touch it off. I use a pro hunter stock on mine. it helps. Typically they are very accurate.
Mine shoots 300 NP and 285 grand slams to the same POA the 270 gr. load is only a couple inches off. high right if I remember correctly. Alot like a 30-06 in trajectory but quite a bit more Horsepower. Big bullet ...big hole. I don't need one but I have one and have had one for 20 yrs.
I will put a burris 2x7 with ballistic plex on my 375. 2 x 7 is perfect(because I have it) or 2x8 nikon would be a good call as well.If you could find a 4x leupold that would be great scope.
I had a weaver 1.5 x 6 grand slam on mine and it did well but I just had the .375 cut from 26" to 23" and dovetailed at Bullberry. I will move the weaver to my 35 whelen as it will get used more often.
The whelen barrel is at Bullberry as well for refinish.
The Weaver is Great glass.Much brighter than my Nikon or Burris scopes.
with the weaver at low power(3x and under) I could see the barrel in the scope. A little distracting at first but I got used to it.
Have fun with it. Those whitetails will never know what hit em.

On my 12" 44 mag barrel i use a swift 4x32 - model SRP6261M - http://www.swift-sportoptics.com/pscopes_premier.html

It handles the recoil well, and it cost's damn near nothing.

I however have a hard time using the magnification due to my constant focus on being perfectly stable (which im not) lol

I have the same barrel and I put a Center Point from WalMart on it and love it. Even if the shock ruins the scope I am out only $65.00 and I have not ruined a real good scope. Shot 270 grns. bullet and have it set at 150 yards and not problems yet.

Hello Everyone:
Thanks for the comments. I have another thread running in the gunsmithing folder about reloading for the 375 H&H. Please look at that and comment if you wish. When I get the funds together, and time to work the load up, I am going to put the Nikon 2x8 on the barrel.
