I am sure this has been asked before, but, I did not find anything here and I would like a reply from the pros.

Will a 15 inch Encore pistol barrel fit on a Pro Hunter frame? Is there anything special I need to buy?

Thanks,

Pavan

Yes. But make sure the pistol grip is installed. If it has a stock installed, you just violated the law by making a short barrelled rifle.
All the best,
Glenn

If at first you don't succeed... buy newer / better equipment!

Actually a 16 (or 16.25) would be legal with either a buttstock or a pistol grip. Shorter than 16 require a pistol grip. Thus a 14" Contender barrel or a 15 inch encore barrel would be illegal if attached to a frame wearing a buttstock before installation. There is no maximum limit for either a pistol nor a rifle.
I've been known to shoot a 21" pistol o0n occassion Wink But then, I've also been known to holster a 21" on a folding choate buttstock.

Important note -

If you have a barrel that's under 16"
And you put an extension or muzzle brake on that takes it over 16"
Then you can only use it on a pistol.

If you have the extension permanently attached; through welding or pinned,
Then you can use it as either a rifle or pistol.

Bonding agents like Red Loctite or epoxy do not qualify as permanent.
