I shoot a Encore. I currently have a SS heavy barrel
25-06 and a SS 50 cal. Now since it's legal to BP deer in La with
The 35 whelen , I'm searching for good - bad info on the barrels .
Also suggestions on which barrel type etc ,preformed the

.35 Whelen is one of the calibers on my "want list". Single shot rifles (including the Encore) do have a history of having headspace issues with the .35 Whelen. While I'm no engineer, I strongly suspect it has something to do with the fact that the enlarged neck size leaves too little shoulder area. Those handloading can overcome this problem by either bumping the shoulder back more or less as they resize.
