I have a super 14 in 45-70 and am looking for a good deer load. I do not have dies so will have to go with factory loads right now. Any suggestions?

the remington sp loads were usually pretty accurate in my guns. they were the lighter ones 350gr? i believe. probably wouldn't want to shoot the 405gr out of a handgun! can't be of anymore help as my 45-70 are all rifle/ carbines. if you want to have some fun i could send you a couple of the 350gr hot loads that i roll for bears!!!!lol just kidding, you don't want them for a handgun! have you tried the bulk cast ammo that cabelas sells? i think they had it in the 300+ weight range. any flatnose bullet will knock a deer for a loop out of that cannon. judt find one thats accurate enough

Yea it's a cannon. I was thinking about the 325 gr. size but don't know just what would be best. Thanks for your info.
