I have a Thompson 4 RP scope. It is a older brand and don't know if it will stand up to a 45-70 recoil on a contender frame. I called Thompson and all they could tell me is mayme it will and maybe it will not. That isn't much to go on. If anybody has experience with this scope please help.

If you make sure to solidly mount the base and rings (or rail) it will survive no problem. Mine survived the 45-70, 44 Mag, and the 357 Herrett. If the scope comes loose in the rings it's toast.

Honestly, I have all the barrels I want or could ever need..... wait, look, there's another!!
