encore 204 ruger loads [message #14862]

looking for loads that work well in a 26" encore rifle barrel 1- 12 twist,currently working up 40gr bergers over rl-15,have not yet tried working up 40 gr v-max,any succesful loads out there

I tryed working up the 40 grn VMax but had better luck with the 32s in a 15 inch encore,and my best groups were with RE15, tryed quite a few powders RE15 was the most accurate with the 32s but speeds did'nt impress me only 32.30fps with some other powders I was able to get 3500 but the accuracy suffered.My best groups I used the Fed 205 match primer.

Try this load. Hornady case, sierra 39 gr. blitz king, 28.5 grs. of varget, fed.205m primer. My .204 in an encore barrel shoots this load .314 @ 100 yds & .584 @ 200 yds., if I do my part.
