32-20 Reloads [message #19395]

I've been considering the purchase of a 32-20 barrel. I have the dies and brass for reloading for my 32-20 rifle and handguns.

However, I do not understand how to use the .308 bullets for the T/C with the standard dies. A .308 bullet falls inside the case.

Can anyone explain the process?

Not going to say how you should do it until I can get home and read a manual, but.... in order to use 30cal bullets you'll need a 30cal expander, and even then you might have problems because the die may not squeeze the neck down enough to hold the bullet.

On a personal note, I would avoid ever having two different sized bullets for the same cartridge I'm shooting. Imagine what happens to your nice Encore if you accidentally chamber and shoot a standard 32cal round? That has bad written all over it to me. (Again, that's just my personal preference and observation). I also kept the rounds separate when I shot the same cartridge in two different barrels by using different color MTM storage boxes.

Honestly, I have all the barrels I want or could ever need..... wait, look, there's another!!

You will have to purchase a 30-20 sizer die. It will size the 30-20 brass down so a .308 bullet can be used.
