I'm looking for a cast boolit / mold for the Contender 45 70.
This will be a hunting load for black bear up close, and out to about 75m. I would like this boolit to be gas checked, as I will be using 50 pB / 50 WW + 2% tin alloy, and I'm thinking of 325gr to 350gr boolit weight for the task.

What shoots good in your 45 70 Contender?
I don't have the barrel here yet.......what can I expect the TC bore to slug?
Are there any molds / boolit designs to steer clear of? If so, why?

If you don't mind a heavier bullet, the 400 grain speer flat nose jacketed bullet is very inexpensive and works great on everything up to moose. the only # I have is 50 2479. That # is on a older box....WWKMAG

Ill be reloading for mine in the near future, but going with a jacketed bullit instead. Good luck!
