Strange but a lot of fun. Custom 21" contender in 22 hornet with 1 in 7 twist, 80Gr VLD/ Berger Bullet, atop Trailboss. Its a cats sneeze, and cheap to shoot.

Presently,My .257 Roberts and 209x50 are tied for first----I will be shooting my new .338 Federal barrel Friday.Who knows, it may dethrone them!!! LOL

I like them all I have a 209 .50 a .308 a .280rem a .300 win mag and I am purchasing a 20 guage slug barrel this week. They all are fantastic.

280rem is my choice, from whitetails to elk nice all purpose cartridge.and i also agree with SingleShot the 35 Whelen is a great cal.

6.5x55, I can shoot 100-140gr bullets well under an inch and I get better velocity with a 26" heavy barrel vs. your typical factory rifle.

Depends on what I'm doing. My favorite for the range when someone needs to fire their SKS or Dessert Eagle next to me is a Ross braked 15" 460 S&W Magnum. I'm hoping to find a good slow powder to increase the muzzle flash, but the side blast is more than enough to make them move away.

Honestly, I have all the barrels I want or could ever need..... wait, look, there's another!!

I have a herd of barrels for my encores and contender. Love my 22 hornet for the small stuff, can't wait to bowl over deer with the 50 during muzzleloader, and a very special 300 whisper with a can pretending to be a sniper clipping whitetails in suburbia where noise is an issue. All shoot 1 inch or less at a hundred when I do my part.
