Does anyone have any experience with Bergara muzzleloader barrels? Or any Bergara barrels for that matter. Thanks.

I have have a few of them in a few dif calibers. ie: I have an encore set up with 28" in 243 winchester, 1 in 10 twist, w/uni-dial leatherwood scope. The load is 36 Gr IMR4036 Berger 95 VLD bullet @ about 3050FPS, this barrel drives holes in the concept of accuracy. With zero wind, it will < MOA at 200 meters, It will crush targets out to 900 meters. ( that is about were the Leica rangfinder poops out)I have about 2000 round through it, and it still my weapon of choice for all western game including Elk.( My opinion: 243 is not a youth gun)
I have seen a 7mm08 w/1in9 twist shoot the same way with the 140grVLD.
Nice duel crown, locks up tight, I have not shot one that will not < MOA @ 100 with a good balanced hand load.
There are only two things I will say negative; I have not seen any pistol barrels, a little shy on the twist rate in some of the smaller calibers. I would like to see 1in8 in the .243 and .284 That would let us into a whole new world with a higher BC bullet.

(If they run, they die tired!)

Here is some information on Bergara. I have one in 7mm/08, for the price they can't be beat.

I bought a bergara barrel in .222 and it is a piece of junk. The crown looks like it was cut with a chisel and the extractor is too long. My TC barrel is so much better. Don't buy into that Bellum guy's hype, he is basically a salesman looking to make money any way he can. Bergara barrels all have 1 in 10 twist which is stupid and I am stupid for buying one.

I have two Bergara bbls, one in .223, the other 45/70. they both shoot fantastic. The 223 will put 5 within 1/2" at 100 yds. The 45-70 will do 5 within 3/4" at 100 yds, with these 68 year old eyes. They actually shoot a little better than the TC brand bbls I have. Wallacem in Ga

I have a Bergara SS 270 24" and it shoot under 1" with cheap Rem Corelocs. Try as I might, I can't reload them anymore accurate than that.

I bought a 7mm-08 from Cabelas. It locked up, but the hammer would not cock. I had to send the barrel and receiver to Bergara. To their credit they returned it to me in less than a month, and covered shipping both ways. I now understand from various forums this is a very common problem. I have not shot it yet so I cannot comment on the accuracy.

I have a 45 and 50 muzzleloader barrels.I shoot 100gr of triple seven propellant,250 gr hornady sst bullets in the 50 and 200gr in the 45. Both barrels shoot very tight groups at 100yds for me. The Bergara barrels preform very well for me.Dropped a nice 9pt during gun season ,fell right where he was standing with the 45cal. It was a 100yd shot.
