I bought a box of 129gr hornady interlock bullets for my 6.5x55 to work up a load for. I decided to do a cross section of one with my dremel just for kicks. When I did, to my surprise, there was no interlock ring. Anybody else ever did this with another caliber?

I think I have some in 7mm and if I think about it later I'll dissect 1.
Let me know how that 129 works out for accuracy, I shoot a 6.5 rem mag and mine seems to prefer the heavier bullets but I haven't tried the 129s. I'm gonna shoot some 140 sierras this morning, still trying to fine tune a load. Mike

I tried them at .015 off the riflings and shot 1 1/2 vertical group. Then I tried them .050 off and it shot 1 3/8 horizontal group. I'm gonna try a different powder and see what happens.

you might want to check your rate of twist most 6.5s are set up with a fast twist 1 in 8 is common the 129s may not stabilize as well as 140 or 160 gr mine only likes Hornady 140 sp interlocks. just a thought good luck

Yep, all the t/c barrels have the 1-8 twist, mine likes the 140 also sunny and I have no use for anything heavier in this round.
I never did get around to dissecting the bullet today.
