I just tumbled moly off some bullets (150). Is the media still ok to use? Can media be cleaned? Dryer sheets tumbled? The inside of the bowl has very little moly or powder when wiped with a finger.
Looking for suggestions, this is not walnut media.
Thank you, Mike...WWK

Does anyone know how to clean moly out of tumbling media?

Mike, You might try the dryer sheets, I use them while tumbling and they collect the fine dust pretty good. What media are you using? Mike

Lots of dryer sheets over a lot of time.

Probably easier to replace the media

Honestly, I have all the barrels I want or could ever need..... wait, look, there's another!!

Thank you all for the info. I think I am going to try the white rice media, that I have been reading about. I do have one more question. Why old dryer sheets and not new ones ,free of dyes and perfumes?

Good question, because you're really just using the cloth to capture dirt. This way you can use them as they're intended and then "Recycle" them for another use. I started using them after a lot of years of not using them and couldn't believe the amount of dirt that they trapped. They've almost fully restored the old media to it's red walnut color from the black.

I found out also that the dryer sheets remove A LOT of dirt. I am going to try new ones. Just wondered if there was a chemical reason not to.

I kind of think the reason for using the used is two fold, you already used them for the intended use and also the new ones are real stiff while the used ones are soft and pliable. I cut mine into thirds and throw em in the mix. Mike

new ones are a bit "tacky" and leave a sticky residue on your fingers. That may transfer to your brass and act as a dust/dirt magnet. Wife sez they'll work on 3-4 dryer loads each and then make excellent dust rags. Many use em once and toss, might be better to rescue from trash after a load or two.
