I know from trial and error you do not hold the forearm on a big bore!

25 years ago I shot a .500 nitro express in a Kimber double bl. The only way I would ever shoot one again is if my life depended on it. Lions come to mind. Shocked

The barter system is alive and well, but the learning curve can be painful.

when it's over watch the one in the lower left, it's a real hoot for a rifle. Think one out of 30 kept hold of it

watch some of the other ones. Nice display of what not to do, and "how could they do that to such a cute little girl".

Back in the mid 80's I had a ssk 45-70 shooting 400 grainers, still have it. Anyways one day I almost shot a doe, but let her go. I was going to try the hand on forearm shot. Glad I did'nt.
Curiosty got the best of me and I went to the range and tried the hand on foerearm shot. Luckily I was shooting off hand. When I touched it off I hung on to it, but it cleaned the hearing muffs right off the left side of my head. I've never tried it since....Mike...WWK

hand on the top of the barrel? Could be worse. Have his buddy sit on the front of the barrel, his nuts hanging right in front of the muzzle. When the round is touched off, we'd expect the smell of burning hair to overpower the sweet smell of burnt gunpowder. However, the bet to place here is if the guy's SCREAM is going to overpower the decibels of the muzzle blast.
