I recently purchased a 17 Rem. barrel for my Contender, now to start loading for this. I have looked at some reference but thought that I would ask what has worked best for others. I would like to pick your brains for starting loads of various powders that have worked for you best. As most are aware powder bullets and brass is hard to come by, but have come up with a few of each. Not sure what I have in powder right now and too lazy (actually rather tired) to go check it out. I do know that I have Varget, H4198, IMR 3031, Win 748, and maybe a couple more. Anybody had good luck with any of these and a Hornady 25 grn. hollow point bullet. You don't have to give me your secret loads just some good stuff to start with.

im a big 17 rem guy... have owned 4-5 of them... RL-15 is the ticket, works in every 17 that I've seen
21gr+ of RL-15 with Rem 7 1/2 primer
the old school 25gr remington bullets were the cats ass for me, but they are really hard to find
