I have this Fox Ridge 15" braked Encore barrel, made for .308 (T/C says)........anyone dream of firing mil surp ammunition through this? I don't....thanks.

Verify what the bore actually is by slugging and measuring. Push a heavy lubed soft lead sinker through the bore and measure. Then actually measure the diameter of one of your mil surp bullets and that should give you some sort of idea.

I had one of those 7,63x39 barrels. you can shoot mil surplus through it but accuracy was a joke. Only shot enough to confirm that it was a waste of time so don't know long term effects.

On the other hand it shot Winchester soft point ammo easily under 1.5" at 100yds. With .308 bullets it works, But I bought it to shoot the cheap stuff so it was traded off.
