Super 16 barrels and guns were first available in 1989, shown in Catalog #16. There is a photo of one inside the front cover. Since you can't take a photo of something that doesn't exist already, it can be assumed that barrels, forends, etc had to have been started being made some time before the photo was taken, printing lag time etc. so had to have actually started being made in late 1988. They didn't become "dated" until 1990 (barrels) with "circle stamps". Circle star (proof) for blues, square star for SS. 1990 barrel manf. code for 1990 was a circle "A". 1991 circle "B". 1992 circle "C", etc. Using this dating scheme 2015 would be circle "Z". 2016 they'd have to come up with some new ID scheme.
88 and 89 didn't use any "dating scheme" I'm aware of, so it's not possible to know if your barrel was made in 1988 or 1989, they just weren't available to purchase until and during 1989.
I'll list all the calibers made and indicate the years they were made. Then I'll list the years and indicate changes either additions or deletions. SS Frames and barrels didn't start being sold until 1993, coded circle "D". IF you have a circle "C" stainless barrel let me know (Via PM please).

1992: Circle C, 22WMR dropped(PM me if you have any with 2 locks) 8 Calibers in just blue
1993: Circle D, 2 locks, 22Hornet added,44Mag dropped, 45-70 now bull with M/T (89-92 tapered with soldered front sight)8)blue. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .SS 7cals, 35 Rem skipped
1994: Circle E, 35Rem dropped, 7-30 blue dropped 6 blue. .SS 7cals
1995: Circle F Same 6 blue as in 94. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .SS: 22lr and 22H dropped, 5cals
1996: Circle G no change, same 6 cals in blue. . . . . . . . . .SS same 5 cals as 95

1998: Circle I 4 blue(22,223,45-70,45/410VR; . . . . . . . . ..SS same except no 22lr

2002: Circle M unknown if 45/410VR blue still carried
