G2 Carbine Question [message #46312]

I recently acquired a Contender G2 carbine from a coworker. Had one several years ago that I let slip away and finally replaced it. My old G2 had a firing pin selector (on hammer if I remember correctly) for switching from centerfire to rimfire. The rifle I just purchased does not have the selector. Just has a plain old hammer without any selector. Doesn't appear that anything is missing on the hammer, just made without it. Is this a version I'm not familiar with or is something missing here? Thanks
